History & Collector’s Value
This exceptional Jaguar MK2 3.8 is an extremely rare example of a fully original Italian-market car, sold new by the historic Milan-based distributor Bepi Koelliker, to whom it was delivered on August 16, 1967 — just days after it was built on August 1.
Still bearing its original Milan black license plates, it has spent its entire life in Italy, making it a true collector’s gem. The car is remarkably well preserved, with an original interior and carefully maintained mechanicals.
No invasive restoration has ever been carried out: only conservative preservation work was performed to retain authenticity. The oil has always been changed annually using Castrol classic oils, and the coolant system has been upgraded with Evans waterless coolant, which improves temperature control and requires no periodic replacement.
Technical upgrades, such as a discreetly installed electric fan and a stainless steel exhaust system, enhance reliability while preserving the car’s originality. It is equipped with almost new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
Historical Certifications
In 2019, the car was awarded the prestigious Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, confirming full matching numbers and original factory colors and specifications. The same year, it also obtained the ASI Certificate of Historical Significance, which grants access to Italian historic vehicle benefits (insurance, road tax exemption, and circulation privileges).
It has always passed regular biannual road inspections, and is currently in excellent running condition, ready to drive.
Jaguar MK2 3.8: An Icon of British Performance
The Jaguar MK2 3.8 is one of the most celebrated sports saloons of the 1960s, combining elegance, performance, and British charm. Powered by the legendary 3.8-litre straight-six, shared with the iconic E-Type, it delivered over 220 hp and a top speed of around 200 km/h — impressive figures for its era.
Produced from 1959 to 1967, it became a cultural and cinematic icon, often featured in classic British crime dramas. The final production year, 1967, makes this example particularly rare and desirable — especially in its manual version with overdrive, as offered here.
